In just under 48 hours, I will be on the other side of the country, IN another country and on board a cruise ship bound for the great state of Alaska!! Devon, his wife, Lia and my granddaughter Nora and I will board the plane for our first leg on Sunday, June 21st at 6:30 a.m. (which means arriving at the Cleveland airport at unGodly time!) We fly to Detroit first and then on to Vancouver, British Columbia where we meet our Holland America ship, the Westerdam. The Alaska destination was chosen by Nora and trip planning, discussion, excursion choosing and preparing has been going on for most of a year and I can’t wait!! This will be a return trip for me – one that Robert and I always intended to make. Oh, and fun side fact – Vancouver will be hosting one of the World Cup soccer games so we were alerted to the fact that traffic and such might be a little crazy!! I have no worries, however, because part of our trip costs include Holland America meeting us at the airport and getting us to the ship before it sails so…. I am relatively sure, we’ll be fine.
Driving to Cleveland tomorrow to meet up so we all fly together. Will be taking care of all the leaving-home-for-awhile items in the morning, For now, relax, review and sleep is on my agenda!
